It's that day again... hearts, cupids and a whole day to celebrate LOVE! It's been a crazy busy year already for Polka Dots & Daisies and I'm looking forward to working with lots of other wonderfully in love couples. Tons of fun, new designs are in the making & I also have many to share from last year that I finally had photographed by the lovely Cherie, of Cherie Hogan Photography. Make sure you check out her work. She's recently moved to Utah from Las Vegas and was featured on Studio 5 a few weeks ago. I've worked with her personally and can highly recommend her! I'll soon be posting the designs she took photos of. If you haven't noticed "Feature Friday" fizzled out with the new year. I made a resolution to blog more than just on Fridays, but as you can see I'm a bit behind on that one! Things have been busier than even I anticipated, which is great, but also means this little blog gets less love. I'm working on it though! Also, just thought I'd mention that some REALLY fun, new things are on the horizon. I've had some projects in the making for quite some time now & I'm hoping that within the next few months they'll be all finished & ready for the world. Can't wait! Sorry to leave you in suspense, but it'll be worth the wait-- trust me! In the meantime, watch for weekly postings of recent designs. Much love & Happy Valentine's Day to all! P.S. Since it's nearly Christmas and I'll be taking a week off, I think this is the perfect shoot to leave you with... it's chic, sophisticated and oh-so-lovely! The warm tones of plum & ivory are accented with touches of gold to create this decadent & divine event. I love how cozy, yet luxurious this inspiration shoot feels. Carrie Parker of White Ginger Events, made this winter wonderland come to life with the help of some incredible local vendors. The St. Regis Deer Valley makes for the perfect setting and can you believe all the pretty little desserts?! Oh and how fun are the Pine Cone Fire Starter Favors? I think they're quite darling. Well, enjoy these charming images & have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

Feature Friday-- More Winter Wedding Inspiration!

Today, I bring you more fun winter wedding inspiration. This shoot took place at the Sky Lodge in Park City-- the same location as the other winter wedding shoot I shared a few weeks back, but this one was indoors, inside the incredible Penthouse Suite! Love it.

It all started when Amy Lashelle wanted to shoot a lavish, yet unique winter wedding... so my good friend Amanda {Branches Event Floral} asked me to help with some of the design elements for this charming event-- it was lots of fun. The inspiration came from all the lovely textures of winter-- warm sweaters & mittens, fire wood, faux fur. The color scheme was drawn from shades of Amber, Emerald, Sapphire, Gold & Warm White. I love that these colors are a unique blend, but still have a wintery feel. Natural elements in wood tones were combined with the chic color arrangement for a bit of eclectic charm. We brought in some of the outdoors with whimsical additions like the owls & hedgehogs. I love the upscale lodge feeling with the cozy, at-home touches. Two dresses were used for this shoot to showcase different winter wedding fashion ideas. Add knit tights, shimmering ankle boots and a faux fur wrap to make a shorter-style dress perfect for a winter wedding. Or pair a lovely cardigan with a simple, yet chic full-length dress for a charming look.

In case you haven't yet heard of The Princess Project, I'm excited to introduce you to this wonderful endeavor... basically a group of rockin' vendors (if I do say so myself) have joined forces to create fabulous inspirations shoots based on the Disney Princesses. Magical, whimsical & insane amounts of fun, wouldn't you say?! I was so excited when the Lindsey's (Lindsey Shaun Photography & Lindsey Orton Photography) asked me to be a part of this incredible project. Feature Friday-- The Amour Invite with pocket

Recently did these chic invites for Christine & Andrew. We actually did 2 variations of this design. The one in the photo was the version sent to the majority of the guests & the other is a full pocket for the guests that had more insert cards to keep organized. As soon as I have some photos of the other variation of this design, I'll have to post them! It's a great option to use if you have a few guests receiving multiple insert cards. Anyway, don't you love the color combo of the deep red, cream & gold? So classy...

The ever-so-lovely McKenzie of Photography By McKenzie, asked me to be a part of her Fall Inspiration Shoot. It's a funky vintage dessert party theme & you really must check out! The candy mug favors & colorful invites were lots of fun to create. Plus, don't you just love the flowers by Calie Rose? Feature Friday-- Classic Pocket Invite

Here's a recent design I did for a California wedding. The bride wanted something simple, clean & modern. We used a textured pocket card in combination with white matte finish cards to keep everything refined & classic. Accents of grey & apple green were used to coordinate with the wedding color scheme. The outer envelope was a lighter shade of metallic silver/grey which added a little touch of glamour. The cute monogram seals helped tie the ensemble together. A photo of the couple was placed between the insert card layers to complete the look. There's definitely something to be said for keeping things simple & classy. Thanks Martha & Kassy, it was so fun to work with you!

Feature Friday-- Lace & Lattice Invite

WOW. This week has been insane! Lots of new exciting things coming to Polka Dots & Daisies. I'm very excited, but this also means todays post will be a bit brief. This lovely little invite features the scalloped edge of lace with a diamond lattice pattern for a unique combination. The vintage vine pattern on the backside adds even more flair. A distressed look was applied to the lattice & vine patterns to add some rustic charm. All in all, this new design is chic & cute in any color scheme.

I adore this invitation. A lot. Jennica & Bryce were so fun to work with because they were open-minded & had great style! I just realized too, that today is their wedding day-- oh tender! Jennica's color scheme of dark grey & mustard yellow is all the rage right now, but we wanted to keep her invite design fresh, fun & unique. Why not mix a little paisley & stripes? If you haven't already noticed, adding a fun pattern to the back of an invite is one of our Polka Dots & Daisies "trademarks". Today, we're taking a closer look at some of the floral details from the Woodland Shoot. As you probably know by now, Amanda of Branches Event Floral, is the mastermind behind these gorgeous & out-of-the-box florals. She's also responsible for the lovely bridal headpiece, mantle decor & live snails! That's one of the things I love about working with Amanda-- she'll go to great lengths to bring the WOW factor to every event & photo shoot. The unique birch pole centerpiece was simply stunning and the charming bouquet was equally incredible. I've been lucky enough to partner with Amanda on quite a few collaborative photo shoots & she never ceases to amaze me with what she creates. Feature Friday-- Woodland Invite Details

As promised we're bringing you some up-close details from our most recent photo shoot. Today we're focusing on the invitation. Created with a very whimsical approach, this invite combines freshly designed toadstool & snail graphics with one of our adorable new woodgrain pocket options. The woodgrain pockets come in both this color (which has an ink rub added) & a deeper brown as well. There are so many great ways to incorporate the woodgrain pocket-- they'd look fabulous with all sorts of invite designs & styles. The actual invite & insert cards were printed with a burlap pattern background to add a bit more rustic flair. The finished product was then wrapped and tied with a customized birch tag (another great new product we offer). Whimsical, rustic & all sorts of fun, wouldn't you say?!

I have so many exciting new designs to share with you, but first I've got to show what we've been up to! As I mentioned in the previous post, the ever-talented Amanda of Branches Event Floral & I have put our minds together once again to bring you some fabulous Fall flavor, minus the cliche! We are looking forward to having this shoot featured nationally in the coming weeks-- hooray! If you know me, you know I've had a Woodland obsession since I was young, so it was ridiculously fun to work with this concept for a wedding. These incredible images were captured by two insanely talented ladies-- Camilla of Camilla Photography and Brienne of Azure B Photography. Today I get to share with you one of my all time favorite invites! Bryon & Heidi are having a very unique wedding. It's more like a weekend party with all their closest family & friends. They wanted an invitation that captured their fun, playful style and casual wedding atmosphere. Since they have lots of events over their wedding weekend, they also needed a way to keep everything nice & orderly. So... we ended up doing a gorgeous deep grey, linen finish pocket card with 4 inserts. Isn't their photo just darling? So darling it belongs on the fridge right?! Don't you worry, we've got that covered. Heidi wanted a way for guests to keep the photo card and I thought of the perfect solution-- magnetic stock! Guests can remove the photo portion of their invite & stick it on the fridge, sooo fun right?! I'm sure loving it. We pulled the color scheme from the couch they're sitting on and Heidi's fun red shoes for a vintage/retro inspired flair. Enjoy this little beauty...

Can you believe it's already July? That means Fall is just a couple short months away! Lauren came to us looking for the perfect autumn invite. Her aspen themed wedding is ultra chic & she wanted an invitation that used her warm color scheme & featured a detailed aspen leaf graphic. We think she came to the right place because there's nothing we love more than creating brand new graphics & invite styles from scratch. The pocket used for the invitation is a shimmery and oh-so-pretty shade of burnt orange. The invitation, rsvp card & pocket label are all printed on our gorgeous shimmer stock to give a little sparkle to this sophisticated style. Today I wanted to switch it up a bit, by showing you one of the awesome customized favors we offer! Our old-fashioned soda bottles are perfect to serve as beverages at your wedding or as favors for guests to take on their way out! We offer a variety of different glass bottle shapes & sizes, plus the labels are completely customizable. We can even add your photo to the label-- come on, who wouldn't want to drink an icy cold soda with one of your darling engagement photos on the front?! ADORABLE, right? You get to fill the bottles with your favorite drink(s) too. One of the best parts is these lovely little bottles with customized label are only about $2 each. Not bad. Todays invite is funky & fun with a modern twist. Morgan & Ryan wanted something unique & fresh and I'd say we accomplished just that! After meeting with the bride & groom and learning more about their style, I designed this ticket-inspired layout & created a new floral graphic to accent the right side. Even the back of this invite made a statement with diagonal stripes. Too cute, right?! The color combination of cream, fuchsia pink, orange & grey is perfect for a summer wedding. I just adore it! The wedding world is all about vintage right now & I'm LOVING it! Lindsay loved the Couture Pocket Invite (featured on our website), but wanted to put a vintage spin on it. We ended up with this little number & I think it's absolutely gorgeous! Lindsay's cute mom, Julie, even cried when she saw it (happy tears of course!). One unique feature I added for this invite is the graphic which appears on each of the insert cards & makes the full design when stacked-- it's pretty awesome, I'd say. The color scheme is ultra fresh with metallic champagne, ivory, butter yellow & coral pink.

This invitation is classy, but fun. It's another great option for keeping things nice & neat. The pocket folder is a vertical 5x7, which provides lots of space. Sarah's fun color scheme of apple green, fuchsia pink & silver/grey was great to work with too! The silver pockets are chic & shimmery and help to balance out the brighter accent colors. The main invite graphic offers charming vintage flair, while the paisley accented insert cards tie everything together for a polished, but unique look.

Valentines Day Inspiration + Updates...

Well it's the day of love & I certainly am in LOVE this Valentine's Day! Just welcomed a new little bundle of joy into the world this past Friday Feb. 11th and he's given us a whole new definition of the word love. This new little guy also means I'll be taking some time off. I'll be unavailable for in-person consultations until March 7th, but I will be working from home and checking email as frequently as possible. A Fabulous Halloween-Inspired Wedding...

The lovely Amanda of Branches Floral, contacted us to be a part of an incredible wedding photoshoot-- with a unique Halloween twist! It sounded like fun so of course we jumped right on board & created an invitation + wedding favor that fit the bill. The actual shoot with the talented, Camilla Binks, was just too much fun! Plus, it was a complete delight to see all the magic come together..

For the invitations we paired a fun black & white paisley pocket with a layered antique gold invite-- all in a metallic finish for some extra sparkle & glam! We created a brand new raven graphic to add some whimsy & charm... and voila-- Halloween chic wedding invites with favors to match!

... Prints like the black & white paisley we used for this invitation are classy to mix with any color scheme or wedding theme. Plus, our new pocket panel cards are the perfect way to announce your wedding day-- they're cute & practical, what more could a girl want?!

The decor was all done by Amanda of Branches... it was gorgeous & unique in a black, white & antique gold color combo. Who knew a Halloween inspired wedding could be so classy & chic?
